1.1   The Understanding Globalization

Globalization is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, product, idea, and other aspect of culture. Put in simple terms, globalization refer to processes that promote world-wide exchange of national  and culture resources. Advances in transportation and telecommunication infrastructure, including the rise of the internet, are major factors in globalization, generating further interdependence of economic and culture activities.

1.2   The Impact of Globalization

Globalization in Indonesia was not “ a lot  of thunder without rain drops”. Indeed the borderless world was really accured, started 1970 when Indonesia has million of citizen  work abroad, especially in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan South Korea and Hong Kong. In the past many peole listened to radio Australia, BBC London or Voice of America to get alternative source of information instead of local new service that regularly censored by the rulingregime.

The result was very dramatic, since then changes in political landscape started and Indonesia became the third largest democratic country in the world after Indian and USA, furthermore, as the result of democratization process in Indonesia the forming of Corruption Education Commission (KPK) and Constitutional Court as the success strory of Indonesia  of Indonesia reform.

Globalization has unprecedented effects on many part of the  world and also unavoidably on my own regency in East Java, Indonesia. Now people can easily in the same time listening to western music, drinking coca cola, and wearing China’s cheap cloths, many mall and department store enter up district lever , as a result of new concept of global market.

However, some of the most outspoken critics said that globalization will make the poor people  suffer by flowing of cheap international product to Indonesia, open trade also brought impact on local industries economically.
